Packaging for sending plants by letter post
Shipping plants is a delicate matter due to the sensitivity of the products and requires sophisticated packaging solutions. For the Dutch startup TREEMORE, there were additional requirements: The startup ships plant species from all over the world via regular mail, including coffee plants, orange trees, and cranberry plants; each shipment always includes a card with information about the product. In line with TREEMORE’s product concept, the startup relies, among other things, on PLA plant pots (polylactic acid or multi-lactic acid) and a soil remediation project; the pots are manufactured in the Netherlands using 3D printing. For this unique method of shipping plants, we’ve developed a very special packaging design—one that’s guaranteed to fit in any mailbox.
