Efficient organisational and communication structures, a dedicated team and clear contacts for you ensure smooth project handling at European level.

Our involvement in associations
To drive innovation in collaboration with our partners and make the packaging industry more sustainable, we are actively involved in key industry organisations and trade associations. Above all, we are working on sustainability solutions that continuously reduce our industry’scarbon footprint.
Dr Jan Klingele’s commitment epitomises our company’s philosophy. From 2020 to 2022, he was Chairman of the International Corrugated Case Association (ICCA). Prior to that, from 2016 to 2020, he was President of the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO), of which he is now Vice-President. From 2010 to 2016, Dr Jan Klingele also headed the German Corrugated Board Industry Association (VDW). In addition, he is actively involved in numerous other associations, including serving on the board of ‘Die Papierindustrie’ and the ‘Association for Packaging and Corrugated Board Papers’. A commitment to industry associations runs in the Klingele family: Dr Werner Klingele, Dr Jan Klingele’s father, was one of the co-founders of FEFCO and ICCA.
"Sustainability is a process that never ends, because we want to and must continue to reduce our carbon footprint. To this end, our specialist departments work closely together internally, but also maintain a constant dialogue with industry associations and external interest groups. Close cooperation and joint projects with scientific and research institutions also ensure the transfer of important expertise to our company. On this basis, we develop new, state-of-the-art concepts and innovations for our customers."

Initiative for tomorrow's climate targets: the Modellfabrik Papier (paper model factory).
The “Modellfabrik Papier” initiative meets the EU climate targets with pioneering research work and interdisciplinary projects. The Klingele Group is one of the founding members of the initiative.
The main aim of the “Modellfabrik Papier” is to identify new methods for more efficient paper production with fewer resources. Research will also focus on alternative raw materials and the use of digital technologies in the industry. In this way, the paper industry is taking responsibility and initiative for the climate targets of tomorrow.
