Artificial Intelligence Research Hub

Shaping the future with artificial intelligence - in close collaboration with strong partners from technology and research.

Klingele’s AI Research Hub actively explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and implements innovative, practical solutions within the company. The goal is to use state-of-the-art AI technologies to make our processes more efficient in the long term and set new standards in innovation.
It identifies relevant AI use cases, evaluates and prioritizes them, and translates the most relevant use cases into prototypes and implementation initiatives. In doing so, AI is used responsibly and in compliance with data protection regulations. The foundation for this is the company’s internal AI policy.

Overview

What is artificial intelligence for Klingele?

Our AI enables systems to simulate the cognitive abilities of humans. This includes tasks such as learning and logical thinking. It is implemented as follows:

Klingele AI Research Hub
Its training methodology is based on the use of data and algorithms.
It continuously adjusts its outputs to achieve optimal results.
It independently recognizes patterns and draws conclusions from them to support decision-making.

Our development channels

The Innovation Methods for Software-Intensive Business Models (ISG) module is offered in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart and offers students the opportunity to contribute their own ideas to our AI Research Hub.

Third-party funding applications are used to refinance realisable project ideas through calls for funding from the state.

Insights into selected AI projects

The projects presented provide exemplary insights into the work of the AI Research Hub and show selected approaches to how AI can support processes in the paper and packaging industry.

AI sales toolbox

Practical support for typical everyday sales tasks

The AI sales toolbox supports sales teams with recurring tasks - from quick customer research and a structured customer dossier to preparing for meetings in an interactive role play. The aim is to better prepare appointments in a short space of time, ask respectful and appropriate questions and jointly agree on sensible next steps without overwhelming the customer.

Digital Product Passport

Transparency for precise CO₂ balancing

Together with research partners, Klingele has developed and successfully tested a Digital Product Passport (DPP). As a digital product data set, the DPP bundles relevant information, such as the carbon footprint of corrugated cardboard products. It combines data from a secure data space, i.e. a protected space for data exchange, with the digital twin as a digital image of the product. In this way, the platform improves data quality, creates transparency along the value chain and supports regulatory requirements such as the CSRD.

AI-supported service platform

Driving force for digitalisation in the corrugated board industry

Together with the University of Stuttgart, Klingele has conceptualised an AI-supported service platform for the corrugated cardboard industry. It is intended to drive digitalisation, optimise industry-specific processes and enable applications such as CO₂ balancing. The project combines research and practice and serves as an impetus for sustainable innovations and future-proof business models.
