Premiere at the E-commerce Berlin Expo 2026: Klingele presents solutions that work in everyday shipping

On 17 and 18 February 2026, we exhibited at the E-commerce Berlin Expo in Berlin for the first time - and came away with many great conversations and valuable insights/takeaways. Under our motto "Challenge us with your packaging needs! We have the solution!" we were able to show how recyclable packaging made of corrugated cardboard can measurably improve e-commerce processes with less complexity in packaging, smoother processes in warehousing and shipping – while also reducing costs and CO emissions.

Why the trade fair was relevant

The market is under double pressure: efficiency (automation, fast dispatch processing as well as postage and volume costs) meets sustainability - plus new requirements such as the EU PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation). It is precisely this combination that our target group is currently dealing with on a daily basis: solutions must be economical, practical and future-proof at the same time.

Thank you to all visitors for the dialogue. If you would like to discuss the topic in more detail, we look forward to hearing from you.

Top topics at our stand

Right-sizing & use of material: less empty space, less filling material, stable performance.
Process simplification in shipping: faster handling thanks to suitable designs and clear standards.
Return-friendly packaging: easy to open, securely resealable, smooth return handling.
PPWR readiness: check product ranges, plan changeovers at an early stage.
Recyclability & CO₂ levers: optimisation along the entire shipping route.

What we took with us

The most frequently asked question at the stand was, “How can we reduce air in the box and filling material without more transport damage?” - Many companies are looking for formats that work in everyday life which are quickly available, reliable protection and yet compact enough to reduce shipping costs and material consumption.

A second ongoing topic was the PPWR: "What does this mean in concrete terms for our product range - and when do we have to act?" During the discussions, it became clear that those who evaluate and prioritise early on will gain planning certainty and avoid hectic changes. Pragmatic steps were particularly in demand: Which items should be converted first? Where is standardisation worthwhile, where do we need an individual solution?

What this means for customers:

  1. Quick effects through format optimisation: more compact shipping dimensions reduce volume/postage costs and material usage.
  2. Returns as a quality factor: resealability and protection are crucial for customer experience and resale.
  3. Take a structured approach to PPWR now: an early portfolio review provides certainty and speeds up later decisions.

We provide support with recyclable corrugated cardboard solutions, advice on packaging size and material optimisation, samples/testing on specific applications and a mix of standard packaging and customised developments - so that packaging in e-commerce not only "fits", but also performs.
