Honoured: A World Corrugated Award for Klingele for the second time
A clear vision of developing products that don't waste resources and protect our environment can lead to innovative and standard-setting packaging solutions. The jury of the World Corrugated Awards also sees it this way: our ‘¼ Pallet Eco Display’ has now been awarded the ‘Best Design Innovation Award 2021’.
We took part in this global competition with the "eco sales display" for our customer Zarelo GmbH, a supplier of fireplace lighters, which had already taken first place in the "Display" performance group at the German "Golden Wave" Wellpappe Innovation Award 2021. The concept had already impressed with its sales-promoting appearance, its intelligent design and its consistent sustainability: not only the display itself, but also the pallet feet and the pallet guide belonging to the ready-made transport system are made of 100 per cent recyclable Wellpappe. It works completely without plastic strapping or stretch film.
At the World Corrugated Award 2021, we won with the eco pallet display took first place in the "Best Design Innovation" category. With this award, the organisers want to draw attention to the growing importance of design innovations in the corrugated board industry and honour teams and companies that bring pioneering concepts to the market. In addition to innovation and design, the jury also considered suitability in practice, cost efficiency and complexity of the production process.
The World Corrugated Award is a relatively new honour in the industry. It has only been around for two years and this is the second time we have won it. In 2019, the judges, representatives of international packaging associations and trade fair organiser Reed Exhibition, named us the most environmentally friendly company. Our environmentally friendly and resource-conserving strategy for manufacturing ecological products, including the use of renewable energy and innovative technologies in production, was the deciding factor for this award.

Our last award two years ago focussed on our sustainable product and production concept.
