Blue Box Partners - Innovation Academies for customer success
Companies with production sites spread across Europe are often looking for partners to supply them across national borders and to guarantee them a consistently well-coordinated service. It is important for companies to have a point of contact that can provide them with international support and whose consistent quality they can absolutely rely on.
Since 2006, the answer to this challenge has been Blue Box Partners (BBP), a European alliance in the packaging industry with a clear goal: to provide its customers with optimal supply of corrugated board packaging. Throughout Europe. From a single source. In any quantity. In all specifications. At any time.
Alliance of four key players
Blue Box Partners is a co-operation formed by four well-known European companies in the packaging industry. Members of the alliance are the Klingele Paper & Packaging Group from Germany, Cart-One S.R.L. from Italy, Hinojosa Packaging Group S.L. from Spain and the VPK Group NV from Belgium. All four partners are successful and traditional family businesses that are among the leading companies in their respective countries of origin. The success of the alliance is impressive. With a total of 100 corrugated cardboard plants, 8 paper mills, a capacity to produce 4.7 billion square metres of corrugated cardboard and 1.6 million tonnes of paper per year and a turnover of 2.8 billion euros in 2021, it is now one of the top 3 pan-European suppliers of corrugated cardboard packaging.
Customised teams of specialists
BBP is currently organising exclusive Innovation Academies for the most important strategic packaging topics, in which customers from different areas (marketing, research & development, designers, production managers) can exchange ideas with BBP specialists, the Innovation Pilots.
We are a group of pragmatic and entrepreneurial specialists who have made it our mission to develop sustainable packaging solutions made of Wellpappe that offer added value to our customers worldwide.
Mission of the Innovation Pilots
For the team, a precise understanding of the customer's problem and involving the customer in the process is the best way to find innovative solutions. The development of a solution is not a creative process in which something is invented, but an innovation process in which a solution to a problem is developed together with the customer. The Innovation Academies are staffed with selected practitioners. The team constellation ensures that the innovations are highly practicable, which is proven by rapid prototyping.
Focus on the future
One topic that is currently being worked on at full speed is the substitution of single-use plastic in the beverage industry. This is a European project that has top priority - because there is no real solution on the market yet.
But the Blue Box Partners are also thinking ahead! Because BBP does not only deal with specific customer projects. For example, the specialists have also looked at e-commerce and the amount of packaging and generated initial results on the subject. E-commerce is an important topic that will be the focus of the Innovation Academy next May and will be dealt with intensively: How can total costs be managed as e-commerce grows? How can single-material packaging be used sensibly in e-commerce and how can empty space be reduced during transport?
