We view ourselves not just as suppliers of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions but also as active members of society. As a traditional family-run company, it is important for us to harmonise our economic, social and environmental objectives. We therefore take our social responsibility very seriously - as an employer, as a federation member, in the training sector and on a local scale.

As an employer, we not only offer a family-friendly work environment but provide regular, comprehensive training, and we support the principle of life-long learning with our Klingele Academy. We also enjoy productive, long-term partnerships with schools and universities.

Klingele is a member of the German Corrugated Board Industry Association (VDW) and of the European industry association FEFCO, and is highly committed to further innovation and sustainability within the industry - and to promoting corrugated board as a versatile, attractive packaging material for other target groups.

We are affiliated to the global SEDEX network to offer our customers maximum transparency in matters of CSR. Sedex is a non-profit organisation dedicated to making global supply chain business practices more responsible and ethical.

  • Social commitment on a local scale

    As a family company, founded almost 100 years ago, and established throughout Germany, we are not an island but part of an extensive, multi-layered relationship network. Like everyone around us, we benefit from constructive cooperation and a stable social climate. It is therefore important that we also provide social impetus and support organisations promoting goals we can identify with.

    What we do: 

    • Support cultural and sporting events in the region
    • Sponsor organisations promoting social action, including the Stuttgart Civic Foundation or the Stuttgart Rotary Foundation
    • Support training initiatives such as the “Aufbruch Remshalden” association, which helps and advises young school leavers in the transition to working life
    • We also supply our corrugated board to various projects at the University of Stuttgart - and also, for example, to artists for their imaginative creations!
  • Klingele as an employer

    As a family company, founded almost 100 years ago, the emphasis of our activities is on continual development and longevity. We therefore support our employees with a number of measures to ensure that they can always focus on the job - even during personally-challenging situations.

    What we offer:

    • Leadership principles based on support and esteem
    • Regular vocational and advanced training: our internal Klingele Academy offers personalised training options for employees from all divisions We are currently training 80 apprentices in 11 trades in our plants.
    • Health promotion: the heath and safety of our employees is top priority. This includes organising healthcare days in the workplace, where we offer employees check-ups and advice on health and nutrition. Our latest achievement is to offer employees a leasing model for pedelecs (electric bikes) at attractive conditions - not just for the journey to work but also for leisure use!
    • Flexible working hours: constantly juggling between job, family and sometimes even care duties can be exhausting at times. Flexible working hours are our way of supporting our employees in achieving the best possible balance between home life and work. And the step between a management position and a part-time contract is no longer insurmountable.
    • Holiday programmes for children of employees: we organise fun holiday activities for the children of employees at our Remshalden site during the Easter and Summer holidays.

    Klingele Academy: inspiration to learn!

    We have systematically implemented the concept of “life-long learning” for many years now and continually encourage employees to develop their strengths and skills. Our internal Klingele Academy offers a wide range of seminars, from “classic” courses on corrugated board and printing technology, to management, IT or sales training. Besides pure professional training, we also offer courses on such themes as work-life balance, self-marketing and “career and family”. We also regularly integrate new topics and market requirements into our curriculum to maintain a cutting edge and the ability to advise and assist our customers.

  • Membership of Sedex – transparent CSR activities

    Numerous measures are implemented throughout the company in the interests of environment and hygiene management, and occupational safety. We are affiliated to the global SEDEX network (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) to give our customers maximum transparency with regard to these and other activities. Sedex is a non-profit organisation dedicated to making global supply chain business practices more responsible and ethical.

    It offers a secure online database allowing member to store and share information on all CSR topics, quickly and easily. Key areas include labour standards, health and safety in the workplace, the environment and business ethics. Duplication of work and additional audits are no longer necessary.
