Climate protection projects save CO₂ emissions - for example through reforestation or the expansion of renewable energies. Independent organizations monitor the exact amount of CO₂ savings. These savings are sold in the form of certified emission reductions to fund the project. Projects that could be realized without this financial support are not recognized as climate protection projects. In addition to saving CO₂, climate protection projects have a positive and sustainable effect on local development.
